Poise and Posture

It's extremely hard not to be successful if you are properly prepared. And I can't stress enough how important posture is when it comes to being healthy and feeling good. Stand with your arms loose at your sides, feet shoulder-width apart and pointing forward. It is important to keep your knees slightly bent or "un-locked" at all times. This will put less stress on the joints and put the load on the muscles... keeping them in a state of continual excersise. It'll take about a week for your body to adjust to the added stress. And it may feel un-comfortable or "un-natural" at first. Push down with your feet and up with the top of your head, and outward with both shoulders. Thrust forward slightly with the hips. Keep the brow and jaw relaxed, and the tip of the tongue pointed and touching the roof of the mouth just behind the teeth. Keeping in mind not to lock your jaw. This is proper posture. If you were to "side-step" and face the palms of your hands forward, it'd be near impossible to not be ready for anything.
